Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good – Rom 12:21
When we are mistreated, our natural response is to give back (“Tit for Tat”). Pride within us prompt to return insult for insult. In some families, people don’t talk to each other because of Pride. Pride goes before destruction.
God’s will for His children is overcome evil with good. Jesus instructed, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven – Matthew 5:43.
We read in old testament that even though David had two chances to kill King Saul, but he didn’t do it. He overcame evil by doing good to Saul. This is one of the reasons that God called David as “Man after His own heart”.
Prayer: Father God, help us to please you by overcoming evil with good. Transform us to your image for you were kind to ungrateful and evil men. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!!!
