When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. Psalms 34:17
In this Psalm David is proclaiming the fact that the Lord is always good. He is not only our deliverer but also our strength in times of trouble. The Lord hears us at all times. There is nothing too big or too small for Him to take care of. He draws near to the brokenhearted because of His love towards those that are hurting.
David had to put his trust in the Lord when he felt abandoned and betrayed by King Saul. Our God is a God of deliverance who keeps his promises and faithfully showers his grace, mercy, and justice. God does not promise that those who serve him will be free from all troubles and cares of this life. We will have to suffer at times for many different reasons. What He does promise is that as we serve him and seek to be like him, he will make us strong, firm and steadfast. God’s word promises protection and peace in times of fear and anxiety. In his strength we will be able to overcome the wiles of the devil and win the battle against sin. In the midst of these trials, we can cast all our anxiety on him. Let this promise enable us to be righteous and then cry out to God in all our troubles.
