…now thus says the LORD, He who created you…Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. (Isa. 43:1)
The word “redeem” means “to buy out.” Whenever we see the word “buy,” immediately, our mind goes to money. People think that they can buy anything with money in this world. However, we cannot buy spiritual things. Bible does not say that we are REDEEMED with the money but by the precious “blood of Jesus Christ.”
In today’s verse, we can observe that God has created, called us by our names, and redeemed us. We can observe a wonderful plan of God from Eph. 1.
– “God the Father” has “CHOSEN” us before the foundation of the world (v. 4)
– “God the Son” has “REDEEMED” us through His blood (v. 7)
– “Holy Spirit God” has “SEALED” us (v.13), which speaks of “finished transaction.”
Let us be thankful to our Jehovah Goel, who went through the pain and suffering to redeem us.
